Choose a photographer you feel comfortable with.
The photographs matter. So does the person beside you through the day.

Look for a connection, as well as a style.
A photographer spends a lot of time close to you, your family, and your friends. Beautiful pictures are important, but so are the way that person communicates, how they respond to questions, and whether you feel comfortable being yourself.
Have a real conversation.
Before you book, make time for a phone call or video conversation. Tell the photographer what you enjoy in their work and what you are worried about. Ask how they organize family groups, help people who feel awkward, and adapt when the schedule changes.
Describe what matters to you.
A quiet ceremony with your closest family and a busy dance-floor celebration ask for different kinds of attention. Share the people, traditions, and moments that matter most. A useful consultation helps you understand how those priorities fit into the coverage.
Choose someone who helps you enjoy it.
My favorite feedback has often been that I felt like part of the celebration. I want to make thoughtful photographs while giving you room to enjoy your people. You should feel that the person you hire respects both the images and the experience of your wedding.
